The talented candidate will have a software engineering background and a passion for cloud native technologies. They will work within our Engineering Team. Their primary role is to propose and support the building of scalable and resilient Cloud platforms, with a strong focus on Kubernetes based solutions.  They will lead and coordinate cloud and software architecture that supports both delivery and operational capability of our range of products. They will be a leader providing technical guidance and direction for implementation, modernization, enhancement and management of the Kubernetes/Docker CaaS enterprise-wide architecture.

This is a senior engineering and architecture role, reporting directly to our Chief Product Officer. In addition, the role collaborates very closely with our Engineering and DevOps leads. The role is based in the UK and requires UK RTW status. We offer flexible and remote working with occasional team meet ups.


 

Tech Stack: .Net, Python, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, AWS, Microservice Architectures, Azure DevOps. 

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Excellent technical architecture skills, enabling the creation of future-proof and scalable solutions
  • Deep technical knowledge of Cloud based solutions (AWS or Azure) and Kubernetes 
  • Ability to rapidly gain knowledge of the organisational structure and needs to facilitate working with relevant teams
  • Experience in architecture and designing technical cloud-native solutions based on industry standards and best practices using Azure and AWS capabilities
  • Effective communication and the ability to communicate clear architectural direction to a variety of stakeholders
  • Building native and portable Kubernetes solutions
  • Experience building Ecosystem Architecture including Domain Driven Design, Insights Forwarding, Messaging Schemas, etc


 

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the design and architecture of Cloud Solutions and Kubernetes deployments across the business
  • Liaise with project teams, create solution concepts, and provide architectural direction
  • Work with business stakeholders to translate requirements into application architecture
  • Reviewing and giving advice for Kubernetes-based infrastructure, Core-DNS, Kube Proxy, Ingress, etc
  • Creating solution prototypes and presenting ideas to stakeholders
  • Designing architecture for observability and APM
  • Apply expertise in cloud environments and achieve highly resilient and scalable solutions
  • Enable DevOps and development contribution to selected solutions
  • Provide valuable feedback to stakeholders on project risk


 

Beneficial skills, experience and certifcations

  • Certified Kubernetes (CKAD or other)
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Avid subscriber of CNCF and open-source cloud native technologies
